Lennox Head is a small surfing village in the Northern Rivers Region on the East Coast of Australia. It is situated 16kms south of famous Byron Bay, 200 kms south of Brisbane and 800kms north of Sydney. It can be reached by air via Byron/Ballina Airport (10mins drive away), Coolangatta Airport (1hr drive away) or Brisbane Airport (2 hours drive away). Coaches between Sydney and Brisbane also stop in Lennox Head.
The village has many restaurants, several motels and serviced appartments as well as camping grounds and backpacker accommodation. There are also several health retreats and luxury accommodation located in and around Byron Bay.
The climate is sub-tropical and humid, with day temperatures in winter (June - August) around 19-23 degrees celsius and in summer (December-February) around 22-28 degrees. As there is a constant seabreeze the day temperatures in summer are comfortable and about 10 degrees cooler than those of Lismore, a town 35 kms inland from Lennox Head. Ocean temperatures vary between 19 and 23 degrees.
There are mountains covered in rainforest just a short drive inland from Lennox Head- and the beaches around Byron Bay and Lennox Head are spectacular. This area is beautiful and locals refer to it as 'paradise'.
Here are some photographs I have taken in or around Lennox Head.
